About the shop

I grow over 250 varieties of dahlias in my display gardens and sell some varieties in my online tuber store, which will open in early spring of 2023. Varieties are sold as single tubers with viable eyes. Unfortunately, I am not shipping in 2023 and will only offer tubers for local pickup. My other work as a wildlife rehabilitator has become so busy in the spring that I simply don’t have time to run such a comprehensive shipping operation. I will offer several April weekends for pickup of tubers at the farm.

Dahlia bouquets are available at the farm stand during the bloom season and I also offer several U-Pick weekends in September and early October.

Tubers are guaranteed to be healthy with at least one eye. My gardens are pesticide and chemical- free so tubers reflect this natural protocol choice. If you have concerns, please contact me via email. Planting instructions are included with each purchase.

Please open your package as soon as you receive it and keep tubers in their bags of vermiculite, out of extreme heat or cold until ready to plant in your zone.

I know it may come as a shock to some of my customers but I have decided to end my shipping program. The intensity of the current dahlia craze, while exciting for many, does not dovetail well with my other career as a wildlife rehabilitator. Every spring my clinic is full of orphaned baby rabbits, squirrels, opossums and porcupines - and the numbers are only on the increase. Their welfare has to be my first priority. So I am going to focus on what I love best about dahlias - growing and hybridizing, sharing my u-pick gardens with the public in the summer, and managing my busy farmstand bouquet business. I will sell tubers online but only for local pick up. Any extras will be donated to 4-H clubs, or offered to local dahlia societies and garden clubs. Thank you for your understanding.
